gossip girl

welcome to new york citys upper east side, where my friends and I live, go to school, play, and sleep-sometimes with each other.

the hunger games

Today I will be talking about one of the most amazing books out of its series and the book is called the Hunger games. This book is so awesome Icouldn't stop reading it; that's how awesome it is. The book is about the Hunger Games where there are two tributes from each of the districts. There were 13 but now there are only 12 because the top of thirteen got destroyed in a rebellion attack.

So there is this girl named Katness and a girl named prim. They are in the waiting hours of the reaping. there is this boy named Gale and in their district they have an electric fence. there is a spot on the fence where it broke and the fence is never on,so they slip through the fence so they can spend the a few hours hunting before the reaping begins. They meet in their normal spot so they know they are. They  find the other and they spend the few hours before the reaping to see who has to compete in the hunger games.

They are getting ready to go the reaping with their nice dresses. They finally get to the reaping when she sees Gale smiling and saying you're not going in the games. You're one in a hundred. There comes this girl on a stage Effie Trinket and she is the reaping ball roller and a mentor for the girls and she rolls the big ball. The girls always come first she says. She picks the ball. She says the winner is prim, she just stared there in shock when Katniss found out she voluntered to take prim's place in the game.

Kingdom Hearts

Woah i finally get my password hahah........ I love the Book Kingdom Hearts.
its my LIFE.
Prolouge:
There are legends that state that Kingdom Hearts is a paradise that will bring prosperity to those who find it.
Another of those legends state that the place is nothing but a hellhole, designed to hold a great darkness at bay.
The last of the legends state that whoever finds Kingdom Hearts will only send the world into a state of nothingness.
Due to these legends, many people began searching for the door that could lead them to the place of legend.
The ruling power believed that Kingdom Hearts would send the whole world to a state of nothingness and, wanting to keep their truth about Kingdom Hearts as the only truth, began hunting down the people who sought it out.
By the time the ruling power could find them, it was too late as the people, mostly Keyblade masters and wielders, began fighting one another for the door.
The series of world wars disturbed the balance of light and darkness, causing the darkness to overtake the world and killing many people. The Creator saw this and instead of letting the darkness overtake the people, She allowed it to do this one thing: rend the people's hearts and souls from their bodies and allowing the two factors to live outside of their hosts' bodies as animal spirits called "Anima"
The Anima helped slowly bring the world out of darkness, but the ruling power, fearing another war, forbade the mention of "Pure Darkness, Pure Light and Kingdom Hearts."
we Finally finished the book... its an amazing story and has a sad but happy ending..
this is the beginning video and the ending.

------- Emily: the thing that me & Jacque liked the most about the book was the stories or secrets behind about each character. Sora, Kairi, Riku, are the  main characters of the book & game. ALLLLLL the disney character are in the book & game which make it exciting. (Micky Mouse, Donald, Goofy, etc.) Our favorite quote for the book is.. "a scattered dream is like a far off memory... a far off memory is like a scattered dream... i wanna line the peices up. yours and mine"

Kiss Me, Kill Me

Summary:
Kiss Me, Kill Me is about a high school girl named Scarlett who is suspected to be the murderer of Dan MacAndrew, a boy who shes had a crush on for who knows how long. She is invited to a party by her "frienemy" and is later out on the terrace with Dan. Dan died that night, and everybody pointed to Scarlett with no explanation. Scarlett is transferred to a different school where nobody knows about her secret, till Scarletts new friend reads newspapers found in her room, and then Scarlett realizes that it wasnt really her who murdered Dan, it was a set up.
Passage:
Scarlett pg. 95
I can barely cope with talking to a boy, let alone one who seems like he might be remotely interested in getting to know me. How can I even think about boys? The only one I ever kissed dropped dead while we had our tongues in each other's mouths. And I don't even know why he died. No one does. It doesn't look like we'll ever know what killed Dan. And that means that I might as well go into a nunnery. Because after what happened with Dan, how can I even think about kissing a boy ever again? What if the next boy I kiss drops dead, too?
Recommendation:
I would recommend this book to girls if you like mysteries and drama and boyssssss. Its really good and it keeps you wanting to read more. You should read it. ;)

The last Thing I Remember

I'm doing the Last Thing I Remember for my book talk. This book is about a kid named Charlie who wakes up in a strange room strapped to a chair. He escapes the room and later finds out he was convicted of the murder of his friend Alex. He was apart of a group of terrorists and they were trying to find and kill him. My favorite quote is when his  karate teacher, "Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty-never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy".

Elizebthan Attitudes

I do think that girls are still expected to be beautiful because they want to look good and they want other people to notice them. You had to be rich and beautiful to get peoples attension.

culture then and now

some of the things are the same today as they were then like men wanting there women to be beuatiful. or there women to be wealthy everything has to do with class and money and looks.

Modern Times

The 1500s were very different from todays society. The attitudes towards boys and girls back then are nothing like they are today. Back then girls were thought not to be capable of logical thought thought and boys Leaders in society. Today they're treated equally with equal rights.

The Dashwood Sisters

This book is about 4 sisters that live in england who are kinda snobby and the expect the best of everything. Then they have to move to Norfolk..... Which to them is far from "the best". So they have to get use to all the different people and how there going to be living now, and on the way, of course they meet boys.

Hold Still

I just started reading this book at the beginning of class. It seems to be about a girl and something happened to her friend. She also seems to know a lot about biology. I like this book so far.

crank

its bout a kid who do crack

Lost in Translation

Those of us who speak another language know how easy it is to misunderstand messages. Cultures can be so vastly different from ours today. Look over the chart called "Lost in Translation: Male and Female Roles in Society" and think about how these roles and issues look today.

After careful thought, please respond to the questions about modern times. Post your comments in a new blog post, and be sure to back up your opinions with examples!

George's Marvelous Medicine. ;

This book is really funny.  Its about a young boy named George, his mom is going outta town to buy some groceries because they live nowhere near any cities or local markets, His mom told him he had to watch his Grandmother while she was away & make sure she takes her medicine. Well charlie makes sure she takes her medicine all right...
He mixes a bunch of different things together, & feeds her the medicine. Little does he know she becomes 200 feet HIGH! & she destorys the ENTIRE HOUSE! Hes gotta clean up his mess before Momma comes home!
“In the bathroom, he gazed longingly at the famous and dreaded medicine cupboard. But he didn’t go near it. It was the only thing in the house he was forbidden to touch. [...] There were things in there, they had told him, that could actually kill a person…”

The Last Thing I Remember

Today in "The Last Thing I Remember" I read to chapter nine. In the chapter charlie had just got out of the chair he was strapped to. He jumped through a window and stole one of their trucks. While he was trying to get away he turned on to road that led onto a field. The road was really rocky and bumpy. When he wasn't paying attention to the road and hit a big rock and the truck flipped. He was to dazed and sick to run away. But before the chapter ended he saw them get closer to him to take him away.

A Dog's Life...So far a great read!

This blog is a great place to post about our books and get great ideas of what we want to read. But to get a better idea of what a book is about, you need to include why you chose the book, any images you see as you read, connections you make, predictions, and any other related topic.

Today I started reading a new book, A Dog's Life by Ann M. Martin. Tiffany in my second block class lent it to me when I noticed the book on her desk. The dog on the cover looks just like my beloved Riley, who died last year. I still miss him, and I know Katie does, too.

The story is narrated by a stray dog, who lives with her brother, Bone. She and Bone were born in a shed behind a family's summer house, and one day their mother went out and never came back. She and Bone learn to live secretly on the property and get their food from the garbage dump. It's really pretty sad so far. The narrator says,"I do not understand emotions very well. I know what fear feels like, and I have been afraid many times. But I am less clear about words such as joy, happiness, sadness, and anger."

I am already hooked. I hope, of course, that they find a nice family to live with. I imagine that she (the narrator) may have many adventures in her quest to find a home.

I hope you will post about your books, and include a more in depth look at the characters and how you feel about them and about the storyline.http://trinityw22.files.wordpress.com/2011/11/dogslife.jpg

Stay tuned. Keep reading and keep blogging!
